ETISSO LacBalsam® Caterpillars & Ants Glue Ring – Insecticide-Free Barrier for Tree Trunks

The LacBalsam® Caterpillars & Ants Glue Ring reliably stops crawling tree pests – completely insecticide-free. It prevents pests from reaching the crown via the trunk (e.g., winter moth females for egg-laying) and also stops the up-and-down migration of ants, which "protect" aphids and thus promote aphid infestation. The green coloring helps to protect beneficial insects, as they are less attracted by the color.

How it works

• Against winter moths & leaf-eating caterpillars: Flightless females are prevented from climbing up → no egg-laying in the crown, less caterpillar feeding on leaves, blossoms, and fruits.

• Against ants: Ants are stopped at the trunk → they can no longer reach aphids as easily → aphid infestation is indirectly reduced.

Application

• Timing

  • Against ants & other insects: Start in early spring (after the frost period)

  • Against winter moth females: Apply in late September (hatching usually early-mid October)

• How to apply the glue ring

  1. Choose a smooth spot on the trunk at a height of 60–80 cm

  2. Cut the strip to fit the trunk circumference + approx. 5 cm

  3. Place around the trunk with the adhesive side facing outwards

  4. Partially peel off the protective film, stick down the end, then completely remove the film

  5. Fix at the top & bottom with binding wire so that the ring fits snugly

  6. Important for support poles: also attach a glue ring there below the connection (otherwise "alternative route")

Inspection & Replacement

• Special adhesive does not dry out and is not washed off

• Check the adhesive layer after frost periods

• Replace if:

  • heavily soiled or

  • largely covered with pests

• Remove leaves as soon as they stick to the glue (otherwise "bridges" will form)

Safety, Storage, Disposal

• P102: Keep out of reach of children

• Store in a cool, dry, frost-free place and under lock and key

• Dispose of used strips with household waste or recycle

Shipping

If you choose shipping instead of pickup, the following options will automatically be available to you depending on your order and delivery address:

Parcel Shipping (DPD or Hermes)
Shipping within Germany. Shipping costs depend on the weight of your order and will be displayed at checkout.

Local Delivery (Delivery Service)
Delivery within a 20 km radius for a minimum order value of €50. For orders placed by 11 AM, delivery usually takes place on the same day by 8 PM.

Pallet Delivery (Freight Forwarder)
For larger or bulky orders within a 20 km radius, also for a minimum order value of €50. Delivery will be arranged by appointment within 5 business days.

Please provide your phone number at checkout, as well as any notes such as a preferred drop-off location, so that we can optimally plan the delivery.
