Automatically optimized irrigation with the soil moisture sensor
The innovative GARDENA Soil Moisture Sensor makes watering your garden noticeably easier, more precise, and significantly more water-efficient. Instead of watering rigidly according to a schedule, the sensor measures the actual soil moisture directly in the root area of your plants and transmits the values to the connected GARDENA irrigation control. If the soil is still sufficiently moist, the upcoming irrigation cycle is automatically skipped – so watering only occurs when it is truly necessary.
The sensor is compatible with almost all GARDENA irrigation and multi-channel control systems, making it versatile – whether on the lawn, in flower beds, in the vegetable garden, or even in larger planters. Thanks to its compact design and particularly low height, it does not interfere with lawn care or daily life: both lawnmowers and robotic mowers can easily drive over the sensor without damaging it.
The 5 m connection cable gives you flexibility in placement and can be extended with a separately available extension cable if needed. This way, you can always find the optimal measurement position in the garden. You can view the measured moisture values directly on the connected irrigation control and keep an eye on your irrigation at all times.
The battery-operated sensor is powered by two AA batteries (not included), which are designed for an operating life of approximately one year. A low battery level is signaled both on the irrigation control and via an LED in the battery compartment – so you can change the batteries in good time and ensure continuously reliable operation. The soil moisture sensor thus provides fully automatic, demand-oriented irrigation that optimally supplies your plants while saving water, time, and costs.
