Paddy rice (unhulled rice) is a particularly easily digestible energy source for pigeons. Thanks to its high content of complex carbohydrates, it provides quickly available, yet steady energy – without straining the digestive tract. Therefore, paddy rice proves useful during training weeks, directly after flights for regeneration, and for feeding-sensitive or young pigeons.

What makes paddy rice so valuable

• Light & digestible: Gentle energy supply, supports stable digestion – ideal during recovery phases.

• Steady energy: Complex carbs for consistent performance, without feeling "heavy" in the crop.

• High acceptance: Fine grain is readily accepted, even by young pigeons.

• Versatile combination: Perfect addition to breeding, racing, or seed mixes.

Application & Feeding

• As a supplement to the basic mix: Mix in 10–30% paddy rice, depending on the goal.

• After the flight/at the beginning of the week: Briefly increase the proportion to gently replenish glycogen stores.

• For sensitive animals/young pigeons: Incorporate in smaller amounts to improve tolerability.

• Minerals: Always offer grit/mineral mix separately; replenish fresh water daily.

Practical tip

• During stress phases (e.g., several flights in a row), combine with energy-rich seeds (e.g., safflower/linseed) – for a balanced energy profile.

• Use moderately during breeding/rearing so that the protein requirement continues to be met by the breeding mix.

Quality & Storage

• Natural single feed material (rice, unhulled).

• Storage: Cool, dry, protected from sun; seal bag carefully after removal.

• Shelf life: Consume as quickly as possible; regularly remove leftovers and dust.

Pickup takes place during our opening hours.

Shipping

If you choose shipping instead of pickup, the following options will automatically be available to you depending on your order and delivery address:

Parcel Shipping (DPD or Hermes)
Shipping within Germany. Shipping costs depend on the weight of your order and will be displayed at checkout.

Local Delivery (Delivery Service)
Delivery within a 20 km radius for a minimum order value of €50. For orders placed by 11 AM, delivery usually takes place on the same day by 8 PM.

Pallet Delivery (Freight Forwarder)
For larger or bulky orders within a 20 km radius, also for a minimum order value of €50. Delivery will be arranged by appointment within 5 business days.
