Fine-grained base mixture for finches & exotics

40 – Exotics Base is the balanced daily mixture for small exotics such as zebra finches, Gouldian finches, Java sparrows, long-tailed finches, among others. The fine granulation is based on the natural pecking behavior of these species and ensures optimal absorption, stable energy and gentle digestion – ideal for year-round feeding.

What makes up the mixture

• Species-appropriate fine seeds: High proportion of millet varieties (e.g. yellow, white, red, plata, and silver millet) plus canary seed – easily digestible, very well accepted.

• Constant energy supply: Carbohydrate-rich seeds provide rapidly available energy for activity and singing.

• Fine structure: Perfect for small beaks; reduces feed waste and promotes even intake.

• Suitable all year round: As a base feed for everyday use – can be flexibly supplemented depending on the life stage.

Feeding recommendation

• Daily ration: Approx. 1–2 teaspoons (about 3–7 g) per exotic per day, divided into 2 meals.

• Variety: Regularly offer green food/herbs and fine sprouted seeds; during molting, sparingly mix in oil seeds (e.g. some niger seed).

• Breeding & Rearing: For increased requirements, selectively supplement with egg food and fine seeds.

• Minerals: Always provide grit/cuttlefish bone/mineral stone separately.

Composition (typical)

Fine millet mix (e.g. yellow, white, red, plata, silver millet), canary seed, depending on the batch small proportions of panicum/rice/niger seed to round it off.

Storage

• Store in a cool, dry, and light-protected place.

• After opening, seal airtight and use promptly.

• Remove feed residues daily; always provide fresh water.

Shipping

If you choose shipping instead of pickup, the following options will automatically be available to you depending on your order and delivery address:

Parcel Shipping (DPD or Hermes)
Shipping within Germany. Shipping costs depend on the weight of your order and will be displayed at checkout.

Local Delivery (Delivery Service)
Delivery within a 20 km radius for a minimum order value of €50. For orders placed by 11 AM, delivery usually takes place on the same day by 8 PM.

Pallet Delivery (Freight Forwarder)
For larger or bulky orders within a 20 km radius, also for a minimum order value of €50. Delivery will be arranged by appointment within 5 business days.

Please provide your phone number at checkout, as well as any notes such as a preferred drop-off location, so that we can optimally plan the delivery.
